At Forest Kids, we are intentional about the environment we create. Our application process allows us to thoughtfully build each group, ensuring a supportive, safe, and engaging experience for every child. By getting to know each family, we are able to support individual success and create a strong, connected learning community.
Our programs involve managed risk, physical activity, and group cooperation, so it is expected that children are able to follow safety boundaries, listen to instructors, and participate respectfully. For our youngest Forest Kids, they must be potty trained and not in diapers. By applying, you acknowledge your child is ready for this type of environment.
After reviewing applications and program availability, we will invite families to register for programs that feel like the best fit for their child. As we carefully consider group dynamics and overall program experience, and due to limited space in our programs, not all applicants may be offered a spot at this time.
We offer two days a week of educational programming for both of our age groups, ages 4-7 and 7-13, and all types of learners are encouraged and welcome to join (public school, Heartwood and homeschool families). You are welcome to register for more than one type of program. Our programs and curriculum are designed to be cumulative, meaning each session builds on the last and offers new and exciting learning opportunities and ongoing projects, allowing children to deepen their skills and confidence over time. This makes full-year participation especially valuable, to not only ensure kids are receiving all the benefits of our well thought out curriculum, but winter participation provides fresh air, natural light, movement support, immune health, improve mood, and helps regulate energy levels during a season when many children feel more confined indoors. We have a warming tent that will be used during the cooler winter months- kids who play outside year round learn how to regulate their body temperature, understand their own comfort levels, and adapt confidently to changing weather conditions.
We appreciate your understanding and support in helping us create a strong, connected, and safe Forest Kids community where all children can thrive. We look forward to another year of adventures, hands-on learning, and fun!
**Priority will be given to families that register for the full school year, all 4 sessions**
